October 2005 - First Holiday to Zakynthos for my
40th, where the idea of having an 'off-plan' holiday villa was first conceived. November 2005 - First visit with the aim of looking for land and to obtain tax numbers & bank account. Didn't see any land that we liked but were successful in getting tax numbers and bank account. NOTE: NO direct flights had to fly via Athens. May 2006 - The hew holiday season had just started so we went back out as soon as we could. We had spent the winter searching various websites and arranging viewings for our visit. We visited a number of plots and narrowed it down to three that were realistic for us, one in the village of Agalas, one near Mousaki, and the other near Kipseli. We visited all of them at different times of the day during the remainder of our stay to get the best possible idea of each plot before deciding on the one near Kipseli (also spelt Kypseli). May 2006 - Made offer on land June 2006 - Land Purchase Completed July 2006 - Confirmation of Land Registry Transfer October 2006 - Another Holiday to Zakynthos and first visit to the plot as owners. A pleasing moment! February 2007 - Submit Plans for Building License October 2007 - Confirmation that the building license has been approved. We can start to build now! and have 4 years to do it. July 2009 - Obtained copies of permissions and build plans. Discussed build costs and various aspects of the build itself. |
